About Living Inside Art: Nashville Interiors, Exteriors and Gardens and Darcy Heaser:
This coffee table book features artists and interior designers around the East Nashville neighborhood. Within the pages of Living Inside Art: Nashville Interiors, Exteriors, and Gardens, you will find professional artists, interior designers, and famous musicians. Blending old with new, home owners explore the idea of bold color, antiques, and collections of art. East Nashville is a unique neighborhood, often leaving visitors inspired. Have you ever seen a chicken roaming around in an art studio? Do you dare to dream of bold interiors? What if your garden sparked others to do the unthinkable? Welcome home. And welcome to the artsy side of town—East Nashville. Types of art that are featured include textiles, acrylic paintings, interior design, exterior design, garden landscapes, antique collections, and historical homes and architecture.
The author, Darcy Heaser, is a published journalist, having written over fifteen articles about homelessness in Tennessee. She is a Nashville native. Darcy is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University with a degree in public relations and journalism. She is an artist, dabbling in sewing and acrylic painting in her studio. Darcy is a self-taught fashion designer, having designed clothes for more than a dozen musicians in Nashville for Country Music Awards performances each year. In her spare time, Darcy loves to garden in her yard with her pets and husband. As a result of this book, inspired by the Haston Homestead, Darcy started her own homestead, enjoying time with her new chicks (Carol Helen, Dust, and Tuna) in her garden.
Photographed by Drae Brown, Nashville native fashion photographer. He specializes in editorial styles, known for his use of lighting and angles. Drae makes a safe space for art to come alive—he is trusted by models and artists, and has been in the Nashville art arena for more than five years.
